Eligibility Requirements for IMT Nagpur PGDM/MBA Admission 2027 – All Specializations
To apply for the PGDM/MBA programs at IMT Nagpur for the 2027 batch, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria: they must hold a 3-year Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognised university.
Additionally, final-year students are also eligible to apply for the same. However, they must submit their final mark sheets and degree certificate to the IMT Academic Program Office within the stipulated time. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of admission.
In addition to meeting the academic qualification, candidates must have a valid score in one of the following MBA entrance exams: CAT 2026, XAT 2026, GMAT (taken between January 1, 2022 and January 26, 2026), or CMAT 2026. Please note that CMAT scores are accepted only for IMT Nagpur, not for other IMT campuses.
Are there any seats available under the management quota?
There is no management quota. Selection is based purely on merit.
The Real Admission Process in IMT Nagpur
1. Apply through the Common Application. Candidates complete IMT’s shared application form for the Ghaziabad, Nagpur, and Hyderabad campuses, indicating campus preference, and pay the application fee (quoted at roughly ₹3,500 plus applicable charges for the current cycle).
2. Complete the campus-specific form. Once the common form’s window closes, candidates who selected Nagpur fill a supplementary, campus-specific form and upload supporting documents, including their entrance exam scorecard.
3. Shortlisting. The admissions office reviews applications and shortlists candidates for the next round based on a combination of entrance score, academic record, and profile.
4. Offline Personal Interview (PI). Shortlisted candidates are invited to an in-person selection round. For the 2026–28 cycle, the institute has indicated this process will run offline, with details communicated to shortlisted candidates by verified email starting January 2026.
5. Consolidated scoring. A final composite score is built from four inputs: entrance exam score (CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT), past academic record, work experience (where applicable), and PI performance.
6. Offer and campus allocation. Provisional offers go out based on the consolidated score and each candidate’s stated campus and programme preference, subject to seat availability.
7. Document verification and fee payment. Selected candidates confirm their seat by submitting original documents and paying the admission fee within the deadline communicated in the offer.

How will the PI process be conducted this year?
The Admissions and PI process for Batch 2027-29 will be offline. The details of the process and modalities will be shared in the month of January 2027 with all shortlisted candidates over verified email.
What is the last date for application?

What is the difference between Major and Minor specialization?
In PGDM Program, a Major specialization is your primary area of focus, while a minor specialization compliments it with secondary expertise.
The first-year courses are common for all three programs. PGDM programs allow students to choose their major and minor after the first year and these choices may influence internship opportunities and final placements.

The selection is based on consolidated scores of CAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT, past academic record, work experience and performance in Personal Interview. So, there is NO pre-decided cut-off. However, last year we stopped at 75 percentiles for CAT/XAT and 90 plus percentile for CMAT. For GMAT, it was 550.
