Electronics & Communication Engineering Department is one of the premier departments, started in the year 1972. The department is offering one undergraduate (UG) program – Electronics and Communication Engineering, two postgraduate (PG) programs – M. Tech in VLSI Design & Embedded Systems, M. Tech in Communication Systems and PhD program through research.
The department has academic autonomy since 2007 and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi. Well qualified, experienced and committed to deliver 45-faculty members support academics and research under four broad core specializations – VLSI Design, Embedded Systems Design, Communications Systems, Signal Processing & Controls, and Networking & Computing.
The department is ably supported by 20 qualified, experienced and committed technical staff.
UG & PG students are encouraged to take up interdisciplinary research in various domains and students are placed in reputed companies like Analog Devices, AMD, MediaTek, Intel, NXP Semiconductors, Global Foundries, Marvel Semiconductors, Microchip, Synopsis, Cadence, SanDisk, Cisco, Qualcomm, Robert Bosch, Deloitte, and many more.
The department has MOU with various leading industries like NXP Semiconductors, Global Foundries, Infineon, Intel India, Lekha Wireless Solutions Private Limited, Texas Instruments, Wipro, Keysight technologies, TE connectivity, ESSEN, Semiconductor Laboratory, Idea unlimited, Indian institute of HAMS, Indian institute Science, GK Machineries and Robotics, and research establishments like Department of Sericulture, Govt. of Karnataka, DRDO.
